SARAH THOMAS

I have lived my life believing “I will” more than “I can,” and that has made all the difference.
At the core, I am an artist — a writer with a deep love for the visual medium. Creating films and telling stories has been the biggest journey I have ventured into. Each film I have made, woven with passion and life has turned into memorable adventures. No two days are the same and I wouldn't want it any other way.
My work spans directing, production, and editing, with more than 300 ad films behind me over the past decade. I head STOM Productions, one of the leading ad film production houses in the country. I started STOM in my early twenties, fully bootstrapped, with more belief than proof. Over the years, I built it into one of India’s leading ad film production houses, creating TV commercials, digital films, branded content, and editorial campaigns for some of the country’s most recognised brands.
While we aren't engaged in commercials, we tell stories that matter, bringing to the forefront voices that are seldom heard and truths that the world needs to hear. We call them, 'Films for the Soul'.
As a director, I enjoy telling stories of ground realities and experimenting with what non conformity and rebellion at the grass root level would result in. I like to believe that films are more than just a social commentary; they are experimental grounds for the “could be” and “would be” realities that a perception shift could bring. For me, cinema is not just about what is seen. It is about what is disturbed, remembered, felt, and carried out of the frame. My films echo this.
Documentaries are more than a passion and I specifically do feminist films. Those that comprehend the term Feminism for everything it stands for in today's world will understand the need for films, the most powerful medium that influences

Documentaries are more than a passion and I specifically do feminist films. Those that comprehend the term Feminism for everything it stands for in today's world will understand the need for films, the most powerful medium that influences minds to throw light on the political, social, judicial, religious, and cultural structures of patriarchy that are deeply rooted in societies worldwide. The first step to change, I believe begins with being aware of these pervasive, invisible, and yet ubiquitous ideologies that have plagued society, affecting every individual and the perspectives that determine how one views another. Not restricting itself to women alone but making men, transgenders, and individuals of different sexualities its prey. I have often learned through research for films, that feminist documentaries cannot be made by throwing light on an issue without drawing parallels between several underlying factors and societal strictures that have come to be through the years. To gain an academic footing on the subject I took up Women and Gender Studies as my post-graduate course and majored in Women's Studies.
Learning has been a constant process and I make sure to probe, explore and pursue whatever I am passionate about. My debut book published in 2022, Cells and Constellations an anthology of poetry exploring the complexity and simplicity of love and life is available now. Poetry is an art form that I have been deeply passionate about since I can remember. I have been writing poems since the age of nine and I still continue to do so - write, rhyme, and bring words to life.
Alongside advertising, I am currently developing three feature-length scripts, including Maya 2063, as I move towards feature film direction. These stories carry a little piece of me and I cannot wait to see them come to life.
here you will find a little bit of everything i am — the art, the films, the words, and the madness too, unleashed within a space I called cera 𓂀
I have learned that if what you love can succeed even for a moment, in taking your breath away, let what you love consume you!

LETTERS TO MY ABUSER
Player One
MAYA 2063
Maya 2063 is a feature film in development set in a near future shaped by rapidly evolving technology and changing ideas of identity, connection, and growing up. Through its world-building, the film explores not just what the future may look like, but what it may ask us to give up.
Player One is an AI short film about a gamer whose virtual world begins to spill into real life. Created entirely through AI, the film is an experiment in pushing the boundaries of what these tools can do for cinematic storytelling, world-building, and visual imagination.
Letters to my abuser is a documentary on child sexual abuse. It is a personal account of victims, looking back on their lives and how they coped with abuse, all brought about through letters to their abusers.
I believe progress without wonder is just machinery—and that the most futuristic ideas are often the ones that bring us closer to what is human.
